Media Technologies

There are so many technologies out now these days that I tend to lose track.  There is much technology and so many different ways to communicate. One of the most obvious media technologies is that of colleges that offer online programs and earning your degree online. For example Ashford University.  Online college degrees are a great way for working adults to get a real degree online without leaving the comfort of leaving their home.

Another type of technology that has had a really big impact in media technology is that of the all mighty blog. A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary, guide site, although there are so many unique types of blogs as there are people in the world.

I thought a really cool one would be the GPS system or what was formally called NAVSTAR when the military owned the rights to the technology. Basically a GPS or navigational system is designed to help you find your locations and help you find another location to go to.

I think that the biggest media technology that is out there on the planet is that of Facebook. Facebook is a social networking website launched in 2004 that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc., Facebook says that they have more than 500 million active users.  According to the Facebook website they calculate is about one person for every fourteen in the world.  To me if that is not media technology I don’t know what is. Originally launched it was for college students to make up their own college profiles which was to include a picture, name of course, birthday which is optional, some personal interests and your classes to meet classmates that you did not know.  It now has turned to ultimate social media networking machine that has become today.
